A quality solar film can be identified by 3 main factors: Visible Light Transmitted (VLT) Clear Visibility, IR Heat Rejection (IRR) and UV Rejection (UVR).
VLT refers to the amount of visible light that passes through a glazing system, (in this case, your car windows) and is expressed as a percent. A lower VLT rating tends to be better for glare control, while a higher rating is preferred for maintaining natural light.
IRR represents the rejection percentage of the Sun's heat. The higher the IRR, the higher the heat rejection, and less heat will be penetrated through the film.
UVR refers to the percentage of rejection for harmful ultraviolet rays. Exposure to ultraviolet rays may cause skin cancer, skin aging, color fading of paint and shortening the lifespan of your car's interior furnishing.
